Remote Web Designer/Graphic Designer

Web designers and graphic designers are invited to employ their skills in a highly creative and rewarding role with The Apogee Foundation: an international philanthropy dedicated to the development of human excellence in the performance arts. Apogee is seeking one or more designers to assist in the ongoing development of the Foundation's website and other presentation and program materials. The goal will be to create dynamic environments and materials inspiring people to participate in Apogee’s mission of developing human excellence through the performing arts.

While Apogee does have several print design projects in the pipeline, it will be a plus if candidates also can handle coordinate web design projects. Therefore, candidates with strong and creative web design backgrounds will have preference for any paid position (volunteer positions being more flexible).

Location is flexible (candidates do not need to be based in New York), and designers may work remotely on their own time as long as target delivery schedules can be met in this way. Some of the tasks we wish to complete in the immediate future include the redesign and relaunch of Apogee's website (http://www.apogeefoundation.org) as well as the design of brochures and certificates and other print and electronic presentation materials, with the goal of arriving at an integrated, world class graphic identity for the Foundation's work around the globe.

Designers will work directly with the President of the Foundation to develop and implement these key design projects. The role can be limited to design alone (or to aspects of the design work we wish to undertake) or can also include creative development work that can have a real impact on the future of the Foundation and its beneficiaries around the world.

The position is anticipated to be part time or on a consulting basis, and the compensation is open to agreement.

Additional Qualifications:

Applicants for paid consultant positions should ideally have strong and creative web design skills with experience relating to education or the arts. Requirements for volunteers are much more flexible, but most highly valued in all candidates will be a strong and inspiring creative approach, a real belief in and commitment to the Foundation's mission, and a generally positive attitude.
