Partners for Livable Communities is looking for an individual who can commit to a long-term relationship with the organization to do contract writing and editing.

This is a consulting relationship, not an employment relationship. We are looking for a researcher/writer who lives in the greater Washington, DC area and is available on an on-going basis to take assignments from Partners and to become our colleague. We are not looking for a staff person and we will not be paying benefits, but what we are hoping for is an ongoing relationship where you become a critical resource to the ability of a national, nonprofit to think and communicate on key topics of opportunity relating to livability.

Partners for Livable Communities is a 32-year old nonprofit involved in all aspects of livable communities from economic development, sustainability, equity of opportunity, regional leadership and quality of life. As a national nonprofit expert in livability, the organization frequently receives support to explore certain issues and create communication documents, that involve research and writing, to a client and/or audiences that is both lay and elected officials and to more sophisticated public policy thinkers.

Additional Qualifications:

Knowledge of the subject matter is helpful, but not required for the position. Experienced writers only should apply and we are especially interested in an individual who is primarily a contract writer for other clients and who does not already have a full-time job. Only qualified candidates will be contacted for an interview.
