Telecommute Editors for Medical and Engineering Research
The role entails editing English academic research papers and assorted documents written by non-native speakers of English. Subjects vary from literature to medical sciences to engineering. The editor would need to have impeccable spelling and grammar and the ability to write clear, concise, and extremely polite notes to the author for the clarification of any ambiguities in the text. Experience in editing/writing is a plus. If you have access to the Chicago Manual of Style and/or other academic style manuals or are aware of the differences between British and American English (in terms of spelling and punctuation), please be sure to mention it in your application. Please contact us for further information.
Rates are negotiated with each individual according to number of years of editing experience (particularly with ESL documents), quality of the edit, and quality in comparison to our other editors. Please state your minimum acceptable rate per word when you bid. Preference is given to native speakers of English. An editing test will be administered to determine your quality and to negotiate a rate.
We have an urgent need for editors for the following subject areas:
Medicine and Life sciences
(medicine, molecular biology, biochemistry, and dentistry)
Physcial sciences and Engineering
(physics, engineering, geology, and architecture)
Economics, Business, and Finance
We are also hoping to be able to interact with you during the day in order to confirm that you will be able to take on certain assignments with short TATs. Thus, freelancers located in Australia, NZ, and the UK will be contacted first, but we will eventually be in touch with everyone who applies. All who qualify will be selected.
This is part of our ongoing recruitment efforts to expand our freelancer base. If you have responded to previous ads for our company, please don't apply again. Your name is already in our records.
