Virtual Sequel Developer
We are searching for a highly motivated SQL Server Database Developer. This individual will play an integral role on their development team as well being occasionally being asked to provide database administrative support as needed. Candidate should be comfortable dealing with complicated and non-standard issues for which standard support is not available. Periodic on-call/off-hours duties are part of this position. Ability to work under pressure and deliver on deadline is a must.
The individual is expected to take an initiative, when required, and to proactively address issues based on the experience and established standards. The individual will be participating in design consultations throughout the organization for various clients and should be able to clearly articulate and substantiate given recommendations. The individual will work as an integral member of a team, under the direction of the Database Lead and Project Manager, is expected to work alongside fellow DBAs and developers and to help others on an as needed basis as well as to ask for help when appropriate.
Job Qualifications
3 to 5 Years experience as a SQL Server Database Lead Developer or Administrator.
3 + years working as a SQL developer as part of a team.
2 + years experience with high availability (MS Cluster Service)
Must exhibit adequate knowledge of solving contention problems.
Demonstrated expertise in performance tuning including both query and server optimization.
Must exhibit expert skills in efficient T-SQL coding techniques
Understanding of multi-tier architectures from a conceptual level
Desired Skills
Experience with DTS, SSIS , specifically ETL
Experience with Transactional Replication
Experience with Log Shipping
Experience monitoring and analyzing SQL Server production metrics
Experience installing, configuring and maintaining SQL Server
Nice to Have Skills
SQL Server Reporting Services
SQL Server Analysis Services
J2EE development for web based applications
Struts
Hibernate or comparable ORM tool
Spring Framework or comparable middleware tool
UML
Basic Windows network knowledge
Broad understanding of current information technologies
24 x 7, on call support experience
