Home Based Project Manager
We are a New York City based website design firm looking for a Project Manager to work primarily on a telecommute basis. Have you been running a small website design firm? Have you worked for a website design firm as a Project Manager or fulfilled the responsibilities of a Project Manager? Have you worked in other industries as a Project Manager, but have graphic design and website design skills? If the answer to any of these questions is "yes", please e-mail your resume to us at employment@websitesforjewelers.com and we will send you a detailed description of the position including compensation.
You will be able to work from the convenience of your home or just about any location you wish. Your daily activities will include mostly e-mailing and some telephone work. You will be e-mailing and calling our designers and programmers to make sure, on a daily basis, that they are progressing towards the completion of each project. You will be e-mailing and speaking with our clients to obtain whatever materials and information is required to complete our projects. You will also be providing them with comps and coded work so that they can evaluate our work and discuss possible changes.
Your duties will include:
- Daily communications between our clients, designers, and programmers.
- For new projects, you will be responsible for understanding what the customer wants and will then work with our designers and programmers in a direct effort to complete the project.
- For existing clients and long-terms projects, you will speak with our clients and do a lot of correspondence via e-mail to make sure that they receive the very best customer service available.
Requirements:
Your abilities must include:
- Very strong verbal, writing and customer service skills.
- Able to work well under pressure and independently.
- Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and keep projects constantly moving towards completion.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Able to track project hours and costs, and ensure timely delivery of all projects according to specification.
- You are both charming and persuasive in meetings.
Even though not required, it would be invaluable if you possess the following skills:
- Intermediate to advanced skills in graphics via programs such as Photoshop.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in HTML, DHTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Additional requirements:
- You must be able to initially devote at least 15 hours per week to this position and devote 40+ hours after a few months.
- You must be available Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm EST.
- Even though this is a telecommute position for the most part, it will be necessary for you to travel to Manhattan at least once every two weeks and possible once every week to meet with existing and potential new clients. Therefore, please make sure that you live close enough to Manhattan to make the trip fairly quick and easy.
