Home Based Senior Report Developer

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a Senior Report Developer to join a customer in Phoenix, AZ.

This position is a 3 month contract to hire opportunity with a great company. Telecommuting is available 4 days per week.

Introduction/Background:

The Senior Report Developer is responsible for the technical management of multiple projects and mentoring of other developers. Design and architectural input of systems is required. Responsible for interfacing with internal development teams as well as project management and business analysts

Position Description, Duties and Responsibilities:

Establish and maintain working relationships with other IT teams as well as business owners.

Participate in requirements gathering to provide technical input on system options and solutions.

Collaborate with Systems Architect as requirements are defined, architecture is proposed, and during development phases.

Identify specific development tasks from proposed architecture.

Participate in development project planning tasks such as resource allocation, task assignment, estimating level of effort, timelines, and dependencies.

Lead and mentor developers. Direct the day-to-day activities of the developers.

Responsible for management of development deliverables within established timeline.

Responsible for development status reporting to management.

Participate in system/unit testing and requirements validation.

Participate in creation of technical documentation throughout software development lifecycle.

Build and release management.

Perform code review and provide feedback to developers.

Perform system overviews for IT management and other development teams.

Support troubleshooting efforts in production systems.

Triage defect/enhancement requests and assign to developers.

Resource for escalated design challenges and issues.

Make recommendations for process improvement.

Minimum Qualifications & Education:

3+ years in a development lead role.

5+ years of development experience.

5+ years experience developing against an Enterprise level database system (Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and above preferred).

5+ years experience using Reporting tools such as: Reporting Services (preferred), Crystal Reports, Business Objects.

Knowledge and experience using versioning and change control software.

Strong analysis and design skills.

Excellent communication skills (written and oral).

Bachelor's degree in related field and/or equivalent experience.
