Work at Home Part-Time Tech Support

Computer research firm Ferris Research is seeking a part-time Tech Support person. Most of the work would be from home, with occasional on-site work necessary, (SF Bay Area) averaging around 3 hours per week. Primary responsibilities include:

    * Maintaining and troubleshooting the President’s laptop; he is in San Francisco half the time, and London the other half

    * Do the same for other company computers and hardware

    * Maintain integrity of anti-virus and backup solutions on all machines

    * Act as a technical liaison for our various outsourced services (email, conferencing, etc)

    * Research, proposing, and implementation of new hardware/software

    * Providing our Web developer with assistance using MySQL/Access (where skills permit)

    * Updating website pages when necessary

The ideal candidate might be a smart student or semi-retired person. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable with the part-time aspect and can make a fairly long-term commitment.
