Partial Telecommute Assistant Manager

Yoga Garden SF is a well-established yoga school in San Francisco. The position is a new position, responsible for most aspects of daily operations and some sales and marketing. The position is part-time (20 hours preferred, but can be fewer). This position will be an independent contractor, with no benefits. A significant amount of work can be done on-line, at home, during your own hours.

Job Description :

The Assistant Manager (AM) reports to the Director/Owner. He/She manages 12-15 work-exchange students who serve as desk staff and cleaning staff. The desk staff provide approximately 10 hours of support to the AM, in addition to their desk duties. The AM is responsible for:

• Hiring, managing, coaching and developing the work-exchange staff

• Scheduling teachers and substitutes and workshops, using web application

• Maintaining client accounts using web-application, communicating directly with clients

• Managing client sales and follow up on membership sales

• Managing small retail operation, including ordering, inventory

• Maintaining procedures documentation on all areas of responsibility

• Maintaining weekly and monthly analyses and reports on enrollments and sales

Qualifications:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

• Computer fluency/competence required (internet, word processing, spreadsheet)

• Prior fitness industry or yoga studio experience preferred

• Understanding of personal sales required

• Financial management/accounting/book-keeping experience required

• Prior management experience preferred

Compensation: $17-$20/hour
