Work from Home Senior Microsoft Exchange Administrator

The Microsoft Exchange Administrator will report to and work closely with the Chief Technology Officer. Primary responsibilities will consist of design, implementation and maintenance and disaster recovery planning for a high-volume Microsoft Exchange 2007 environment. In addition, the candidate will help manage the full technical environment including systems administration responsibilities across a wide array of technical services and provide support escalation for the Level 1 Support Team.

Essential Job Functions:

• Support a growing multi-server Microsoft Exchange 2007/2003 organization in order to meet and maintain appropriate service levels. Environment includes load-balanced CAS/front-end servers, CCR, NAS (iSCSI), and other advanced technologies.

• Administer and support Active Directory, DNS & Microsoft Exchange replication.

• Responsible for planning, testing, tuning, configuration and setup of Microsoft Exchange architecture as well as supporting common email applications (Outlook, Entourage, Outlook Web Access, ActiveSync, BlackBerry, iPhone, etc.).

• Manage the appropriate setup of applications hosted via Microsoft Exchange or reliant upon Microsoft Exchange. This includes, but is not limited to Blackberry Enterprise Server.

• Maintain appropriate documentation on the Microsoft Exchange/AD environment.

• Perform general system administration duties in a Windows Active Directory environment.

• Administer and maintain Windows SharePoint Services environment.

• Administer and maintain Internet Information Server web hosting environment.

• Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server 2005 database environment.

• Support, maintain and administer third party applications.

• Monitor Windows 2003 (and beyond) servers using Microsoft Operations Manager (or similar) and troubleshoot problems.

• Provide a point of escalation and support for the Level 1 Support Team.

• Provide 24x7 on-call support for the email environment.

• Participate in evening/weekend maintenance activities, as required.

• Produce appropriate documentation for application deployment, configuration, and related processes.

• Enforce change management and compliance processes.

• Work as a technical resource on assigned projects.

• Install and configure and maintain server operating systems and repair server hardware.

• Help manage network system backups (Symantec BackupExec 12) and provide a comprehensive disaster recovery plan for email services.

• Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing and response.

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on all hardware on a routine and scheduled basis.

• Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems.

• Position is expansive and additional responsibilities can be added.

Experience Required:

• Must have a minimum of 4 years working experience and intimate proficiency with Microsoft Exchange 2007/2003 administration and troubleshooting in a large-scale environment. Microsoft certification (MCSE, MCSA, etc.) is preferred.

• Must have a minimum of 5 years working experience and expert knowledge of Active Directory administration and troubleshooting. This includes advanced tools like adsiedit, ldp, ntdsutil, and others.

• Must have experience supporting mobile email devices such as Blackberry, Windows Mobile (ActiveSync), iPhone, etc.

• Must have 3 years working experience supporting, maintaining and administering core Microsoft technologies including Windows Server 2003, DNS, IIS, etc.

• Must have strong scripting skills including knowledge of VBScript and Windows PowerShell. Visual Basic and .NET experience is preferred.

• Sound working knowledge of Internet/Intranet technologies including security features such as firewalls, TLS/SSL, IPSec, VPN, etc.

• Sound working knowledge of network infrastructure and operations including switching, routing, Ethernet, and TCP/IP.

• Proficient and familiar with Microsoft Office Professional Suite including the ability to fluently use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Working experience supporting, maintaining, and administering Microsoft SQL Server 2005.

• Excellent customer service and telephone skills, and experience in a professional service environment, with responsibility for supporting multiple applications and network environments.

• Given that most customer interaction occurs via email and telephone, must have superior verbal and written communications skills.

• Must have very strong problem solving skills.

• Must have a minimum of 4 yrs of business experience and/or a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or an equivalent combination in education and work experience.
