Freelance Mid-Senior PHP/SQL Web Developer for Drupal

We need experienced PHP and Drupal developers to make this happen. Our ideal candidate will be designing and developing custom modules and themes, enhancing the current codebase and keeping up with current technologies and ideals related to social media.

Requirements:

You should have a firm grasp of the PHP language as well as solid experience with SQL. You should be capable of managing your time and maintaining a productive environment without close supervision. You will be expected to quickly familiarize yourself and often others with technical requirements on group oriented projects. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, will be expected.

* Minimum 5 years developing consumer oriented dynamic web applications.

* Solid PHP/5 skills - with good understanding of design patterns and OO techniques.

* MySQL - Experience developing for and configuring back end databases, using SQL.

* A love of working collaboratively with editorial staff and business owners.

* Ability to define requirements and work in a "concept-to-design" model.

* A go-getter, positive, can-do attitude with a passion for making the world a better place.

* Demonstrable verbal and written communication skills.

Desired:

Experience with Drupal and related technologies is highly desired but not absolute for the right candidate, however you will be expected to fully immerse yourself in learning the platform.

* BA/BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.

* Drupal - In-depth understanding of Drupal development including themes, blogs, forums and building social networks.

* Experience with Agile/SCRUM methodologies and/or Extreme programming techniques.

* Unix/Linux System administration familiarity.

* Experience writing cross-platform CSS/Javascript.

* Desire to build Open Source software.
