Home Based Investigative Researcher/Analyst

An international investigative firm is looking for experienced, thorough researchers to conduct basic due diligence research and compile brief reports for corporate clients in need of background information on prospective overseas partner/vendor/distribution companies and their principals. Analysts will be provided with a variety of public records search tools and other data sources in order to survey, synthesize and identify any potential “red flag” conflicts of interest, history of corruption/bribery or other illicit/illegal business activity. ***Mandarin, Cantonese and Vietnamese language skills especially desirable.

Skills necessary:

--Ability to run and analyze aggregated database search results from a range of domestic/international sources.

--Ability to digest and distill relevant background material and identify “red flag” references in a broad spectrum of media, including business journals, informational websites, industry publications and mainstream newspapers.

--Ability to take data from above and additional sources and compile into literate, concise reports (generally between 2-5 pages) that are easily understandable/accessible for our corporate clients.

--Excellent vocabulary, spelling, grammar and factual accuracy.

--Proficiency in foreign language(s) a plus, but not required.

--Proficiency with MS Suite. Additional computer skills welcome.

--Cantonese, Mandarin and/or Vietnamese language skills particularly sought.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate most likely has investigative experience. Professional backgrounds that would make a good fit would include journalism, law enforcement or private investigation. Ability to work independently, pay attention to detail, manage/meet deadlines and provide focused results is essential.

Telecommuting is a possibility for the right candidate(s).

Compensation is on a per-case basis with a single case generally requiring two hours or less to complete.
