Work from Home Desk Side Support Specialist

Job Description

Perot Systems Corporation is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. We are currently looking for a Desk Side Support Specialist to join our team in Beverly Hills, California.

Job Responsibilities:
This position provides technical support by performing installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of personal computer and related software/hardware. Trouble shoots software and hardware failures and identifies network problems when related to personal desktop computers. Activities include recognition, research, isolation, resolution, and follow-up steps. Screens, refers, and diagnoses internal inquiries and work requests as they relate to maintenance of personal computers utilizing experience and understanding of customer’s MIS environment. Desktop Support may also provide some phone support.

  Position requires minimal supervision and is responsible for Standard Operating Procedures

  Will develop comprehensive work plans, analysis of users’ requirements in a rapidly changing technology department

  Performs installation, relocation, troubleshooting, repairs and preventative maintenance of desktop devices and software applications.

  Works on complex assignments requiring a high degree of initiative to resolve issues.

  May act as a team lead responsible for supervising, mentoring, or skills development of junior technicians

  Must be able to develop alternative solutions for successful resolution of complex problems

  Maintains online and hardcopy technical documentation related to Incident/Request Management and/or project support in a timely manner.

  Will be required to travel to local offsite facilities 25% of the time.

Required Skills:

  5+ years of desk side experience or combination of education/certifications and experience.

  A+ certification a must

  Experience supporting desktops, laptops, laser jet printers and handheld devises

  Experience supporting Microsoft Suite, Outlook, e-mail, anti-virus and wireless connectivity

  Must have good understanding of multiple platforms (Windows NT, 2000, XP, Vista, Windows Mobile and Mac OS 9x to 10x)

  Must be a strong team player

  Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills

  *Must have the ability to lift at least 50 lbs.*

  *Must have reliable transportation and a valid drivers' license.*

Desired Skills:

  MCSE certification preferred

  Manufacturers’ support certifications (e.g., HP, Dell, Lenovo, Apple, Xerox etc.)

  Previous team lead or project management experience a plus

Minimum Educational Requirements:

  BS in Computer Science or other related degree preferred

  Must be a high school graduate or have a GED
