Accurate coding and abstracting of clinical information from medical records 

Maintain coding data quality and integrity

Some occasional travel may be required to meet the needs of the facilities

Attend Tenet Coding Seminars for both inpatient and outpatient coding 

Attend Quarterly Coding Updates and all coding conference calls

Requirements

  4-6 years of Medicare inpatient and outpatient coding experience

  2-4 years experience with encoders and computerized abstracting systems

  RHIA, RHIT, or CCS credentials

  Advanced knowledge of ICD-9-CM and CPT coding principles and rules

  Intermediate knowledge of disease processes

  Intermediate knowledge of DRG classification and reimbursement structures

  Effective written and verbal communication skills
