This will be a home/remote based position. Major city/airport locations preferred. No relocation will be offered. This position will requires occasional travel.

This position is with Dell's Infrastructure Consulting Services (ICS) Team. Dell's ICS team delivers professional services in several technology areas to a wide variety of customers. This role is critical to the ICS organization as part of a new initiative to ensure solution accuracy right from the start. The solution architect gets involved in the pre-sales process to ensure that a solution is scoped correctly from a technology, cost and delivery capability standpoint. It requires him/her to be extremely adept at understanding customer's needs and implications of various technologies, so as to ensure solution accuracy and excellent customer experience upon delivery.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Engage account team and customer to gather information required for scoping.
Determine the need for a technical SME or a partner to be engaged in the scoping effort.
Determine technology feasibility and develop the best solution for the given customer needs.
Ensure compliance to Service Level Agreements (SLA's).
Create Proposals, Statements of work (SOW) and Pricing Models.
Manage solution governance and get approvals required as necessary.
Maintain & Track information required for metrics reporting purposes.
Stay very current with trends that relate to assigned market segment.
Ensure excellent communication between all parties involved.
Drive prompt resolution to escalated situations.
Create and maintain strong relationships with teams that get involved with the pre-sales process.

Technical Capabilities
General Understanding of ICS Core Technologies such as Microsoft Exchange 2003/2007, AD design, Virtualization Technologies (e.g. VMWare), Industry leading Systems Mgt platforms (e.g. SMS, NetIQ, Altiris), Terminal Services/Citrix, Dell|EMC Clariion storage, Oracle, SQL, SharePoint.
Experience
5+ years of hands-on experience in technical project management, sales or in a similar capacity.
Education
5+ years experience with a Masters Degree; or 7+ years experience with a Bachelors Degree; or 10+ years experience with High School Diploma or equivalency
