Remove non english characters small perl job

I have a file that has lots of non-english characters that i would like to have perl find and replace.

Im pretty new to perl but Im learning.

There are 293 special characters I need replaced.

I have a file called customer_info.txt that has lots of customer details.

Some with non english characters that I need to be replaced.

Can someone write a script that reads in the file of bad characters and then uses perl to find and replace all the bad ones with the correct ones.

Im sure this would be very easy for the right person, like I said im new to perl so this is a bit hard for me.
