Telecommute Medical Writer

My client an excellent Medical Education company is actively seeking a Senior Level Medical Writer. This position can either work in house or remotely.

Description:

This position will develop and create scientifically correct medical education materials for assigned projects.

Oversee assigned projects' content development and editorial activities

Ensure that established educational objectives are adequately represented and adhered to in all assigned materials, projects, and programs.

Create a “scientific story” based on the current clinical landscape surrounding a given therapeutic area or disease state in the development and execution of established deliverables required by various programs and projects.

Work to Establish &/or maintain faculty and (KOL) key opinion leader relationships.

Create and see through, scientifically sound programs and educational materials within set established deadlines.

Stay up to date on industry and relevant scientific/medical knowledge of key therapeutic areas.

Aid as a key contributor for strategic direction and execution of assigned projects and programs

Maintain up to date healthcare changes and guidelines

Aid in the development and presentation of new business proposals

Travel as needed to off-site meetings and programs

Ability to work with staff departments, (both permanent and freelance).

Work with management in the development, completion, and review of proposals and budgets for assigned programs when needed.

Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited too)

Develop, write, and copy-edit, when required, all assigned projects' content, including PowerPoint slides.

Review, approve, and provide final sign off for assigned projects' scientific copy/content.

Collect references for educational programs (articles, monographs, continuing education slide decks, advisory board materials, etc.) in order to meet the editorial needs of medical education projects.

Proactively gather reference information to maintain working knowledge of products and/or therapeutic area.

Excellent writing and verbal skills to assist in the editorial needs of medical education projects.

Work with in house departments as required to aid in support of editorial content and scientific messaging.

Qualifications:

-Advanced Degree in a life sciences area- MD, PhD, or PharmD.

-PharmD with residency and board certification, publication/writing experience or experience in medical or pharmaceutical field strongly preferred.

-At least five (5) years of medical education, medical communications, pharmaceutical advertising or Pharmaceutical marketing experience.

-A strong background in the oncology therapeutic area is required.
