JOB SUMMARY- Senior Web Developer
The Senior Web Developer is a high level web-based programming position. This position sees projects throughout the entire development process, and will provide leadership and direction for development projects and other develoeprs involved. Whether the project begins with a functional analysis of an existing application or starts by meeting with the client to talk about the relationship between business and technical goals, a senior web developer sees the project through development, into deployment, production, and maintenance.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Functional analysis of existing PHP applications
Use the Functional Analysis and Prototypes/Mockups to create a Project Plan
Build custom applications from the ground up
Create programming standards and development guidelines
Ensure a high level of quality assurance
Launch web projects and provide maintenance documentation and support
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Object Oriented Programming
PHP required
Ruby and Perl desirable
HTML, CSS, Javascript, XML/XSLT
Basic source code repository proficiency (CVS, SVN, etc)
Standard SQL proficiency (query writing, optimizing and troubleshooting)
Experience with MySQL desirable
MVC Framework usage (Symfony/Rails/.NET/Struts)
Basic Unix-based OS and shell environment familiarity
