At Home Artist/Adventure Game Illustrator

Textfyre Inc. is looking for a freelance game artist or illustrator to create game art to accompany a text-based game in current development. The project will require at least one dedicated artist, and possibly more working in tandem. Art talent will create original work for scenic backdrops, character portraits, spot art, and map art. Project workflow is open to review, depending on artist, but the final execution will be vector art. This does not rule out traditional artists who can work in brush and ink or similar graphic novel style.

The initial phase of the work will aim to deliver all art for a playable first chapter. This phase begins while the demonstration copy is being built on spec, but ideally once funding is available the artist will be paid for the existing work. After that point, the project will have a good amount of artwork and will likely lead to subsequent projects.

If things are a good fit, artist will work with the project art director who will support you with anything you need to create art for the list, and generally keep your job manageable and ideally enjoyable.

Requirements:

Traditional skills, or an ability to deliver a traditional media look through vector illustration

Ability to deliver art that follows editorial/narrative direction

Ability to match art to existing format

Excellent communication skills

Bonuses:

Previous illustration experience

Computer art productions skills, especially with regards to making vector artwork have a hand-made look.

Gaming and Adventure Book Enthusiasm or Familiarity

Work that can incorporate humor or seriousness as needed

Graphic Novel, Fantasy, Historical illustration all a bonus

Familiarity and ability to illustrate vector art in either Microsoft Expressions Paint or Adobe Illustrator
