Role of the Public Relations/Marketing Assistant:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Public Relations/Marketing Assistant to join a company that really cares for their employees and welcomes them as part of the team. This person will help the CEO with his duties relating to thought leadership and public relations. This will include writing blog entries, liaising with video and audio contractors, planning for thought leadership communications, preparing reports and financial data, training and communicating with other staff, and customer relations. Other more specific tasks are as follows:
• Work with Public Relations Manager to support CEO
o Plan and maintain CEO’s blog
o Work with customers, customer-advocates and Thought Leaders to:
§ Identify audio and video case study opportunities, Recruit and organize audio and video podcasts, Transcribe audio and video podcasts, Advise marketing manager on progress with blog, and audio and video podcasts
o Organize various public relations projects
o Organize calls and/or meetings that need to happen to complete projects
o Assist keep projects on track including tracking project plans and following up on outstanding issues
o Produce reports as requested
o Handle administrative detail for projects that CEO is involved with
o Seek greater role in projects within administrative and other areas of competence
o Seek training on projects to assist CEO perform his duties
o Maintain data and reports to keep CEO informed of Key Performance Indicators
• General Marketing/PR Duties
o Assists in writing/production of monthly newsletters and other online content, writing and editing of product marketing (collaterals, web, outreach), and of an annual print newsletter
o Works with public relations manager to coordinate CEO’s speaking engagements (tracking due dates for proposals, content submissions and requirements, etc.) as well as identifying potential speakers and speaking opportunities
• Relieve CEO of administrative burdens and details
• Provide written and verbal communication on behalf of CEO
• Handle phone inquiries, callbacks, agenda’s, as well as responding to survey’s
• Data Management - Type in contact details and maintain clean data in CRM
Requirements:
Requires strong verbal and written communications skills, computer skills, advanced PowerPoint skills, understanding of public relations, latest web philosophies, social networking, blogging, video and audio post production. The role calls for flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills, project coordination experience, and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors. Willingness to learn and use new knowledge and skills is essential.
B.A or B.S in PR/Marketing/Journalism or related field preferred
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in the Public Relations field and as a Personal Assistant required
