Telecommute SAN Consultant
Looking to fill a Senior Level SAN position. This is a 6 month + contracting position that is able to work remotely (anywhere in the United States). Candidates must have no less than 8 years of experience with SAN. Candidates must have experience with Open Migrator or TDMF (Transparent Data Migration Facility). Candidates must have either experience as an architect or as a team/project lead. Candidates also need to have great communication and soft skills as they will be interacting with upper level management.
This is a Data mobility project. I need person that has backend knowledge of an EMC environment....I am going to assume that if they say they have back-end knowledge they will have hands-on experience delivering and removing storage. * this person will be Migrating Data - either by using open replication or TDMF.... TDMF- is a MF tool used to migrate Data- TDMF was developed originally by Softek and was recently bought out by IBM and turned into a distributed systems tool. --- The only tool that is even close to be similar to TDMF is Open Migrator-
IQN description:
This is a technical lead role and is accountable for the delivery of migration of Hosts from Current array, switch and Data Center. Develops and articulates solutions based on strategic direction/design as articulated by Wachovia Storage Engineering.Lead the Design and planning of migration projects.Development of migration activities including Fabric to Fabric, Array to Array and Tier to Tier migrations.Develop and maintain storage migration policies, and procedures developed with Data Mobility team and Technology Partners. Insure that storage migration strategy is robust, reliable, and provides solid platform for applications. Deliver leadership timely project updates for each migration group on a regular schedule.
Requirements:
Detailed understanding of EMC array configuration or equivalent OEM and ability to assess array performance and layout in a Raid 5 or Raid 1 environment as it pertains too specific customer requests.Understanding of many Operating System platforms including Win2003, AIX, HPUX, Sun Solaris and SUSE Linux and how each performs in a SAN environment Senior level Storage and Server trouble-shooting skills.Minimum 7 to 10 years experience in all types of storage technologies including EMC, Clariion, McDATA and Cisco SAN Switches. Proficient with EMC array configuration tools and software including Solutions Enabler, ECC, and Workload Analyzer. Knowledge of TDMF host based migration tool a plus.Ability to manage large project and meet deliverables within project plan.Understanding of EMC compatibility matrix. Self motivated and requires little day to day supervision
