Offsite Coder/CPC or CCA

Riverside Regional Medical Center is seeking a Full Time Coder to wok the day shift.The coder is responsible for assigning diagnostic, procedural, and complication codes to all inpatient, ambulatory surgery, emergency room, and outpatient patient records using ICD-9-CM classification. Assigns all inpatient records a DRG based on physician documentation of final diagnoses, complications and procedures. Analyzes medical records and diagnostic codes assigned as questions are posed or discrepancies are indicated. Completion of a RHIA or RHIT program preferred. Experience with computerized encoding product required, hospital medical records experience preferred. CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) certification preferred. Position can be worked from a remote location.
