Experienced Legal Copywriter
Boutique creative services firm seeking an experienced legal copywriter (5-10 years experience) to work directly with the creative director. You must have experience in creative copywriting for law firm practices with an in-depth understanding of legal practices for high-profile commercial litigation, personal injury, medical malpractice, and intellectual property. Law-based copywriting experience for other forms of law is also desirable. Experience in several areas is best but we’ll consider writers with a thorough background in just one legal sector. Projects encompass branding and marketing initiatives for a variety of formats (ie--advertising, direct mail, print collateral, interactive and brand communications).
This position entails:
-Helping with business development pitches
-Contributing to the development of branding strategies including product positioning, copy platforms, and content development
-Deducing complex information into clear, powerful marketing messages with highly conceptual skills
-Effectively communicating salient credentials, practice area descriptions, and market differentiators for our clients’ target market
-Working with a teamwork mentality
-Working remotely with graphic designers and creative director to execute assignments as directed
-Proofreading and editing of all communications materials produced by you
Requirements:
-Bachelors degree (English/writing preferable)
-Knowledge of legal terminology
-Strong written and oral communication skills
-Expertise in Adobe Acrobat (8.0 preferable), Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook (with these programs already at your disposal)
-Easily accessible via e-mail, cell, BlackBerry at a moment's notice
-Ready to work quickly and efficiently on deadline
-A great personality and energy/enthusiasm, able to take direction, hard worker but easygoing
Pay commensurate with experience and is based per project (not hourly) depending on the scope. However please include your typical hourly pay rate to give us an idea of your typical fee structure. This is an ongoing off-site freelance position. Please send resume and a minimum of 5 law work samples. Experience writing for major law firms/prominent attorneys a plus but not required. A thorough understanding of the marketing strategy behind the special needs of the highly competitive legal industry and legal experience is.
