Professional Freelance Writer

Freelance writers with professional experience writing research-intensive features are needed for a nationally distributed B2B construction magazine. The magazine has an approachable, consumer-like vibe (think Entrepreneur or Inc.) geared towards top-level executives at major construction companies in the USA and Canada.

For this production period, writers are needed to interview four high-ranking contacts in the Canadian construction industry for a feature (1,000-2,000 words) that pertains to a broad, relevant topic. The magazine has topics in mind, but pitches are also welcome. The writers will have just under two weeks to complete this assignment for publication in our Nov/Dec issue.

Candidates should: 

have experience with research-intensive stories;
have professionally published work;
have some knowledge of business and the construction or building industry;
be friendly and professional – you may deal with our clients directly (if not in person, then over the phone / e-mail).

Compensation:

$0.20/word, which includes body text, supplemental text, and data that may be needed. Style guide available.
