Atlanta Based Work at Home Copywriter

First, let me apologize for the length of this ad. I figure the mere size of this message will discourage many people from applying, and I’m 100% OK with that.

With that being said, I’m looking for a special person who can write. I mean really write.
I’m not interested in a novelist or anything like that. I’m looking for someone who:

• Understands how to effectively communicate a marketing message to an audience.
• Has the skills to mimic my writing style.
• Can conduct an interview and write up a corresponding article.
• Can write about product launches, product announcements, promotional offers, book reviews.
• Can conduct research.

The advantages of this position: You’ll…

• Work from home (we’ll hardly ever meet).
• Have steady work and plenty of independence (I will not literally or figuratively stand over your shoulder).
• Receive market rate or better compensation.
• Grow and learn.
• Be appreciated.

But in order to determine if this opportunity is right for you, you need to know more about me and my business. I own a successful marketing company that’s growing rapidly. In fact, I sometimes have to turn away clients because I just don't have the time to take them on (that’s where you come in).

My clients come to me with marketing and sales problems, and they look to me for solutions. So, in a given month I may write and execute more than 50 different marketing campaigns including print, electronic, video, voice, and other media. It can be a lot of work and to be frank, I need some copywriting help.

So how will you know if you and I will be a good fit?

What I value most is competence and resourcefulness. I’ve hired two people from Craig’s List so far for this position. Neither had the goods. One was OK. She came with lots of other commitments and excuses. She made it a month.

The other just wasn't that great of a copywriter. Nice person, responsible. Just didn’t have the chops.

For you to excel at this position you need to be able to communicate clearly, so people understand what it is you’re saying (this may sound simple, but if you’re a writer, you know clarity is critical and not easy to pull off).

I don't want to have to rewrite or edit your work. I want you to come in, read my previous campaigns and adapt to my writing style.

You’ll need excellent grammar and punctuation. It’s a must. You need to be detail oriented. And you need to be able to juggle multiple assignments at once.

It would help if you had a background in sales and marketing.

Most of all, you need to be resourceful. You’ll be involved in multiple industries comprising both B2B and B2C. I don’t want to baby you. I just want you to “get it done right, the first time”.

Now, this may sound a little harsh and too direct, but let me assure you, I’m a nice person to work with. Friendly, polite, appreciative. I just need you to understand that I need a competent person.

One problem: The last time I posted to CL, I received more than 200 responses in two days. I just couldn’t fairly review them all. So PLEASE don’t reply to this ad unless you really feel you’re a good fit. If you can't demonstrate both the ability to write persuasively (e.g. product promotions) and journalistically, please don't apply.

If you are whiney, needy, and like to delegate up, please do not apply. In short, I am seeking a talented, competent person, who can “get the job done”.

Also, unless there is some really compelling reason otherwise, I prefer to work with local people who live on the north side of Atlanta.

As I mentioned, I am in multiple industries. You'll need to get up to speed in each of them on your own, subscribe to trade magazines, e-zines, know the language, the issues, the challenges.

How to apply: Please email any relevant information you think I need to know. If you think a resume reflects your abilities, then send it. If you have pertinent samples of your previous work, fine. If you want to include a note, that’s OK too. But please, please don't waste my time. I’ve really tried to go out of my way to describe who I do (and do NOT) want. If you’re not my guy/gal, please take a pass.

If the above, admittedly too detailed, description does not describe you to a “T”, do us both a favor and please pass on this and do not contact me. If, after reading this, you think this is what you’re looking for, I want to speak to you. Like I said earlier, if we’re a good fit, you will be offered above market pay, independence, challenge, appreciation and most definitely the ability to grow and learn. Good hunting.
