Data Entry for Portland Website

Are you a culturally literate Portlander that is looking to pick up some flexible income working with a startup that has limitless growth potential?

We're looking for someone to help us with intelligent data entry for a cultural events listings site that is launching soon in Portland and is then expanding to 13 cities by the end of the year. The perfect candidate will be familiar with many Portland venues and have a general sense of what is going on in the arts/music scene. We will be looking to you to help us screen events so that only the good stuff gets entered into our system but this will also involve a lot of data entry so nimble fingers will also be a big help.

The good news is that you can do it from anywhere and we're somewhat flexible on what hours you choose to work, as long as we're getting events into our system. If you have had any previous experience working with content management systems/blogs like Wordpress, that's a definite plus. This will not be brainless data entry so having a good critical mind and a general interest in what is going on in the arts both in Portland and elsewhere will be a big help. Check out sites like Flavorpill and OhMyRockness (both in NY) for a better idea of what we're trying to build.

We're initially looking for 4 hours a week at $12/hour (paid monthly) and the workload could double within a couple months for the right person. You will be working independently with meetups with your manager once or twice a month.

If you're interested, please drop us a line and tell us a little about yourself. We're as curious about your cultural preferences as we are about your work history and computer skills so please let us know what kind of music you go out to see in Portland, what your favorite galleries are or what events you look forward to every year. We're not looking for snobs, just somewhat like minded individuals we feel comfortable building our business with.

Thanks for reading and we look forward to hearing from you!
