Telecommute Surety Underwriter
Our client is a fast-paced, growing Commercial Lines Insurance/Surety Company. They currently seek an experienced, customer service focused individual for their Texas Commercial Fidelity & Surety Underwriting team. For this position you will need to be currently located within Texas with TX connection and existing contacts. You will work out of your home. You will be responsible for the Southern Territory (Houston, Beaumont, etc.). You will help develop the territories and business in TX along with another underwriting professional handling northern Texas. Surety Underwriter Responsibilities: This position will ensure underwriting growth and profitability by underwriting new and renewal surety business as well as manage agency relationships. Surety Underwriter Qualifications: Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, 3-5 years surety experience and their Associate in Fidelity & Surety Bonding (AFSB) designation (or working towards it). Essential skills include: Strong underwriting and marketing skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Knowledge of bonds, procedures and rates; and knowledge of specified territory including agency plant, accounts, competition and general business climate. The abilities to think analytically, problem solve, and utilize word processing and spreadsheet software (Microsoft) are a must.
