Work at Home Healthcare Provider Accounts Manager
HEALTHCENTS, INC., www.healthcents.com, is a leader in enabling all types of medical care providers, throughout the USA, to maximize their reimbursement with health insurance companies and intermediary networks. We do so by negotiating new contracts and by renegotiating existing agreements between medical practices and payers (insurance companies). We provide a complete service which includes analyzing existing contracts for current reimbursement terms, determining which contracts to negotiate and then negotiating the contracts. We operate as a “virtual” business with a secure intranet that contains all key client information and data. Our clients and staff are located throughout the USA.
Job Description:
For our clients, Medical Care Providers:
-Analyze payer insurance contracts and negotiate new agreements on behalf of medical providers
-Prepare letters of negotiations using provided templates and customize them
-Ability, with little information, to find the right contacts in a large insurance company to enable negotiating provider agreements
-Analyze existing medical reimbursement fee schedules, using Microsoft Excel and on-line databases, to benchmark current agreements relative to Medicare and other competitive information and benchmarks
-Contracting; persisting and negotiating agreements to closure with Insurance Companies (Payers)
At times, using an on-line database of contacts to contact and telemarket and sell our services to prospective clients, over the phone
-Very short deadlines with schedule pressure
-For analytical assignments, persist to get to the right contacts, get the information, quickly analyze it and summarize it
-Consistency; our clients require weekly highlight reports of our activities
-Interact on a daily basis with medical office management personnel, physicians, and insurance companies to achieve results
-Initial workload 5-20 hours per week, future workload determined by your results
Skills Required:
Fantastic sales and / or negotiations skills
Excellent verbal and written communications skills, mastery of the English Language
A go getter, a "bird dog" type of personality
Strong business writing skills
Strong Analytical Skills (Excel, Word, Web Based Tools and some Powerpoint) Time and availability to place phone calls during normal business hours M-F Fully functional home office, fax, business telephone to receive incoming calls and to place calls, computer and high speed internet
Strong and Proven Project Management Skills
Consistent Followup with Clients, Insurance Companies and Healthcents Management; not the type to leave a message and wait for a call back
Available to be contacted throughout the business day by e-mail and phone and respond quickly
Strong Analysis Skills, ability to “number crunch” in Excel and summarize findings
Proven track record in business negotiations
Very strong communications skills, written and voice
Congenial but assertive personality
Type of person that will not take “No” for an answer and keep trying
Devoted to the tasks assigned
Ability to meet short term deadlines on projects and prioritize them
Any healthcare or health insurance background is a plus but not a must
Mastery of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) in particular
Very careful attention to details
Ability to quickly learn new internet based databases and document management systems
Home office already set up including phone, fax and high speed internet connection
Ability to work as a team and take direction from more experienced staff
Must have the ability to stay in touch both via e-mail, instant messaging and by phone to key staff and Senior Management on an hour to hour basis during the day
Someone who is results oriented, that is, we do not consider a result “I left three messages for John Doe today”. An example of a result is I negotiated an agreement for client X and obtained a 30% rate increase on their contract
Ability to relate to employees at all levels of an organization from first level contracts’ managers to Senior Executives
Organize and document all key information
Very communicative type of person who keeps his or her clients' aware of progress and is constantly available during the business week
Rate: $20/hour starting rate
