Freelance Senior Writer
Senior Writer (freelance) (2)
We’re a P.R. and marketing firm in the Portland area looking for a committed freelance writer who would like to add a great partner to their list of clients. We’re looking for a serious writer who’s been freelancing, gets business and has the resume/clips to back it up.
About the Position:
The senior writer will interview clients and create exceptional P.R. and marketing vehicles based on those conversations.
The writer must be able to conduct interviews and write about any topic with potentially little or no understanding of the topic, particularly technology. The writer must be able to extract the information necessary from interviews to convey the essential messages and, more importantly, describe and sell clients’ products in a credible manner to discerning audiences in the target industry.
We’re looking for a very talented writer who understands P.R. and marketing and, above all, business.
Writers with journalism backgrounds are strongly preferred, but we welcome all resumes.
- Hours per week: flexible
- Location: telecommute or in the office (writer’s choice)
- Schedule: flexible; one to multiple projects a month
- Compensation: per project (approx. $500-$1,000+)
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree
- The ability to understand and expand on a wide range of complex or convoluted subjects
- The ability to engage clients and represent the firm well during all interactions
- The ability to meet firm deadlines
- The ability to do self-directed online research
- A professional phone disposition
- A strong, self-motivated work ethic
- Confidence
- Attention to detail
- A professional home-office environment (for telecommuters)
- A positive, easy-going attitude and sense of humor
How to Apply:
Please e-mail your resume, a simple cover letter and 1-3 of your best business-related writing samples developed for PR/marketing/journalism to the Craigslist address above. Sending links to your Website/bio/clips is certainly fine, too.
Please keep in mind that, unfortunately, we’ll only be responding to candidates who are the best overall match for the position.
Thank you for your time!
