Company seeks a talented writer and editor to assist us in developing print and online materials. Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Staff Writer/Editor will provide a range of writing, abstracting, and copyediting support to the communications team. The company publishes a wide range of policy and advocacy materials, teaching tools, and effective practice materials in the area of elder care/disability services.
Excellent writing and editing are the primary requirements and work in these areas will constitute the majority of the staff writers responsibilities. For writers interested in workforce development, learner-centered teaching, aging, womens economic justice, or disabilities issues, this position offers an exciting opportunity for career growth at a progressive organization.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Authoring case studies, best practices, fact sheets, blog posts and other materials
Identifying, abstracting, and posting materials for the PHI National Clearinghouse on the Direct Care Workforce
Copy editing and proofing PHI publications and web pages
Providing support for routine changes to web pages
QUALIFICATIONS
Exceptional writing skills.
Precise copy editing skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
PREFERENCES
We will give special consideration to candidates who demonstrate:
Professional writing and copyediting experience;
Experience writing for electronic media
Experience with long-term care or low-income workforce issues; and
Direct experience with caregiving.
