Work at Home Part-Time Community Moderator

MODERATOR: NYC. For Quizilla.com and The-N.com (freelance, 20-25 hours/wk)
Location: NYC area (work from home, but must be available to come in to our Manhattan office).
Salary: ($10/hour). Quizilla.com/The-N.com has an opening for a part-time Community Moderator.

This is a remote, work-from-home position, however candidates must live in the New York City metro area to be available for training and occasional meetings in our Manhattan office. The salary is $10 an hour for an average of 20-25 hrs/wk. The Community Moderator is responsible for moderating Quizilla.com and The-N.com, which includes responding to user reports, doing general content sweeps, and working under the lead moderators’ guidance to keep the users safe and the sites clean of inappropriate content.

Previous moderation experience is highly desirable, however we will provide training for the right candidate. Experience participating in online communities is a must.

Responsibilities include: * Reviewing user-reported content violations and locking content/accounts according to site policies. * Working with a volunteer message board moderation team and locking posts/topics according to site policies. *Selecting user-created content for featuring. *Communicating site policies to users as appropriate, including responding to emails and messages using templated responses.

Qualifications: Superior communication skills, including excellent grammar and proofreading abilities * Ability to learn and use back-end content management/moderation systems * High comfort level with web-based technology and word processing software * Strong interest in and previous experience with online communities and teen culture * Proven ability to learn quickly and work successfully in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment, while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy * A high tolerance for viewing objectionable content, including potentially offensive language or images.

Compensation: $10/hr
