Partial Telecommute-Parent Story Writers

Central Valley-based publishing company is looking for an experienced freelance writer to interview parents on an assigned topic and tell their stories in an accurate and yet creative manner. A number of parenting-related stories are being compiled for publication in a book. Story length is approximately 5,000 words with a turnaround time of two weeks. Compensation is competitive.

Candidates must live in the Fresno area to be considered. Only experienced writers who have previously been published need apply. A journalism background is preferred, as strong interviewing skills are required. Must be able to meet deadlines and work closely with the editor throughout the process. Parents are especially encouraged to apply, because the ability to relate to the parents being interviewed is essential.
