Telecommute Systems Engineer

Our client needs an outside the box thinker to enhance and be responsible for new product development of their Next Generation technology. If you like the challenge of problem solving with software solutions, are willing to unlearn what you've learned, explore and enjoy the challenge of breaking the basic computer science rules/laws, this exciting opportunity is for you! Ideally, we'd like this individual to reside in Colorado, but other areas will be considered as well. If you are open to possible relocation down the line; that would be great but not "required". As our client is flexible and highly driven to find the right individual for their company and this opportunity. Design and develop new paradigms in software combining concepts from supercomputing, neurobiology and other disciplines. Work with application developers and systems analysts to incorporate support for a wide variety of large, scalable, performance-based applications.
Requirements:
  Required Skills: - Experience with supercomputer, massively parallel and/or distributed computing environments. - Familiarity with operating system design and implementation (particularly Unix). - Extensive experience in Java, JavaScript, C/C++, preferably in a cross-platform environment. - Experience working effectively in a team. - Good written and verbal communications skills. Additional Desired Skills: - Experience with optimizing software for modern computer architectures. - Knowledge of a wide variety of application architectures and environments. Education: - Advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related technical field.
