Virtual Music Teacher
An opening is available in Florida for a Virtual Music Teacher for the 2009-2010 school year. Compensation will be dependent upon specific course workload and number of enrolled students.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring progress, evaluating work, conducting online instructional/tutorial sessions, providing academic guidance, and being the subject-matter expert for middle/high school students.
- Providing struggling students (and parents) with alternate strategies and additional assistance.
- Must be able to complete work related duties through a combination of regular office hours during the school day in conjunction with hours scheduled outside of the normal school day utilizing online conferencing software.
- Through the use of telephone, internet, and various curriculum tools, will consult with learning coaches and students to ensure successful completion of instructional program.
- Providing communication with Advisory teachers and school counselors to report student issues and coordinate communication schedules.
- Permanent Florida Teacher Certification in Music (Grades K-12)
- Complete orientation and training programs and attend meetings with school faculty throughout school year
- Exceptional technology skills; especially regarding MS Office Suite
- Team player with ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Experience with online instruction is a plus
- Must own a computer with high speed connection that meets Academic facility’s minimum technology requirements
- Must maintain posted office hours for at least 3 hours per week on two separate weekdays between the hours of 9am and 5pm
- Comply with all provisions of work at home policy
