FactoryTalk Historian Pre-Sales Consultant
Description:
This position supports the information software product businesses by performing technical sales support activities with the goal of increasing information software product license sales. Sales support activities may include customer education, end-user requirements analysis, architecture development, proof-of-concept development and delivery, proposal development guidance, and demonstration support. Support of corporate events, including RSTechEd and Automation Fair is also expected.

The Information Software Consultant is expected to work closely with Senior Business Consultants to develop technically-feasible approaches that meet the requirements of customer sales opportunities. Often, the requirements must be clarified and the technical challenges must be defined before a potential solution architecture may be developed. Solutions that appropriately maximize the use of Rockwell Automation products are desired, but often the realities of a situation require us to integrate with 3rd party products and systems. The successful candidate should be flexible but confident in his or her ability to rapidly develop an appropriate solution approach.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another appropriate technical discipline, or equivalent experience.

A proven history of participation in information systems development or technical sales, related to manufacturing or control systems, is required.

Experience in commercial situations including conducting presentations and demonstrations in person and remotely, to large and small audiences.

Demonstrated skills in the following areas:

OSI Pi Historian software (including technical and marketing skills)
Operating Systems knowledge including Microsoft (Windows 2003 Server, XP, and Vista).
VMWare image development and use in a demonstration environment.
Networking knowledge including Ethernet, TCP/IP, and various control networks.
Business systems integration (SAP, JDEdwards, Oracle, Etc.)
Database knowledge (MS SQL Server 2000/2005, Oracle, DB/2, Etc.)
Software Development technologies including Visual Basic, C++, Java, T-SQL, etc.)

Ability to travel 10-40%.
