Copy Editor-Offsite
Opening is available for a Copy Editor to work with content development team to develop and maintain interactive, online content for undergraduate courses. This is a freelance off-site opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with authors, reviewers, and production staff to ensure the assigned projects are delivered on schedule and reflect our editorial standards
- Copyedit problem sets and other online content for clarity, consistency, and adherence to our style guide; proofread material online; check changes; and conduct comparison reads
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communication, or related subject
- At least 2 years experience in an editorial capacity
- Solid hands-on copyediting experience
- Excellent knowledge of grammar and command of the English language
- Must have experience with CMS (15th edition)
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
- Attentiveness to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Must have experience with Arbortext XML Editor
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in English, Journalism, Communication, or related subject
- Familiar with Canadian/Australian English
- Experience with APA (5th edition)
