Web Developer - Java/J2EE
The assigned individuals will provide Improvement Interactive with software design skills and must be fast, self-motivated, disciplined, organized, detail-oriented and able to work independently. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science or Associate degree in a computer-related field.
Experience with and extensive knowledge of Advanced JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX and J2EE is required. Other highly desired skills include SQL, DB2, Eclipse, Spring, Hibernate and Websphere. Experience with Jetty, Maven, UML, IBM MQ Series and Micro Strategy a plus!
Preferred skills:
Proven listening, verbal and written communication; ability to succeed in a changing environment; proven track record working independently and within a team and ability to present information and process feedback. Knowledge of Process Capability Models, Software Estimating Tools and Techniques and Software Engineering Methodologies is a plus! Candidates must possess the necessary skills to understand and follow procedure and process as provided.
Job Description:
* Working with a variety of web based business applications and technologies to develop, modify, test, and document simple to complex applications.
* Updating existing programs to support enhanced capabilities or maintain the functional operation of a production system.
* Designing, writing, and executing unit test plans.
* Developing knowledge of the operating environment, programming standards, and system structures and specifications. Adhering to standards and suggesting opportunities for improvement.
* Providing regular status updates and ensuring that deadlines and specification requirements are met.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience that will allow the applicant to satisfactorily perform the duties of the job may be considered. Salary based on experience.
