Contract Front-End Developer

Startup company looking to open a quick serve restaurant in NYC is looking for an experienced Front-End Developer to build the front-end of their web ordering system.  This position allows you to work from home with a small virtual team under a tight schedule. This is a contract position that could easily turn into a full-time employment.

Candidate will be responsible for taking design templates and making them come to life.  All designs will need to be translated into standards-based xHTML/CSS.  You will analyze, diagnose and propose solutions to user problems.  Candidate will incorporate jQuery to enhance end user experience.  You will work closely with our bank-end development team and our creative team. 

Candidate should have the following skills:

-Great design sensibility with a creative edge

-Must have a mastery of web standards and cross-browser solutions

-Must have knowledge of DOM scripting, event handling and AJAX implementation.

-Must have experience in Photoshop and/or Fireworks for producing and optimizing graphics for the web.

-Must meet deadlines

-Must be extremely self-disciplined with an independent drive

-Must have experience with Python web development frameworks Django

Optional skills include:

-Experience working with early-stage startups

-Experience with Social APIs and protocols

Location: Work from home

Compensation: Negotiable
