Website Technical Support

Twin Cities based web development company is seeking a website and technical support representative. This position is open to an entry level applicant with the technical understanding of website site structure and processes. After the 90 day training and probationary period, this position has flexibility to work from home. This position is full time and offers dental and health plans.

General responsibilities include:

• Customer technical support, including email and phone support.
• Training customers on e-commerce solutions and content management solutions.
• Working with control panels for our web servers and managing DNS for our client's websites and projects


Primary position responsibilities include:

• Providing email, FTP, domain, SSL support to customers via telephone and e-mail.
• Training on e-commerce solutions, product databases, and content management solutions.
• Oversee the progress of issue resolutions and communicate status to customer and interested parties.
• Maintaining our DNS infrastructure authoritative for over 1,000 domains.
• Implementing and managing SSL certificates, including purchase and renewals.

Secondary position responsibilities include:
• Managing the deployment, configuration, monitoring, maintenance, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, network equipment, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, and peripherals.
• Recommending upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment.


Candidate must possess the following skills:
• Must have an aptitude for customer service and strong troubleshooting skills.
• Must be extremely detail oriented.
• Must have exceptional organizational, verbal and written communication skills
• Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Must have a strong understanding of Linux, FreeBSD, and other UNIX.
• Must have a strong understanding of MS Windows XP and Window Server 2003 operating systems.
• Must have experience with UNIX services (DNS, Samba, SSH, etc.)
• Must have knowledge of TCP/IP and network diagnostic utilities.
• Must be able to multi-task and manage multiple projects and requests at one time.
• Must have off duty availability when needed for implementation of updates and patches, includes on call for server issues.
• Must help develop the education of products within the company
• Must have demonstrate a proven ability to develop processes and procedures to make this role more efficient
