Developer/Project Manager
Developer/Project Manager needed to manage the development, support and maintenance of the test tools used in the certification program. This position will also be responsible for managing the test tool vendors, running plugfests and reference device qualification events, and assisting with all technical operations activities. This position allows telecommuting.
Candidate's primary functions are:
- Become an expert on all company test tools and their architecture.
- Significantly decrease costs of tool implementation, maintenance
and support,
- Manage all tool vendors and tool work, and assist with
bug/defect submission database.
- Research and expand test tool vendor options, working with other
standards organizations to achieve synergy and costs savings
whenever possible.
- Strategically enhance tool architecture, manage, verify and secure
source code and manage builds and releases.
- Work closely with all company work groups tasked with launching new
guideline certifications requiring new test tool specifications.
- Work with the Test Tools Task Force and Media Formats Task
Force to acquire and verify new company compliant test media.
Manage vendors hired to verify and/or create new test content.
- Answer technical questions and run a developer’s forum/wiki as
necessary to assist Members with implementation/guideline issues.
- Work with the Technical Committee, Guidelines Maintenance
Subcommittee and others to keep up to date on the latest releases
of guidelines and errata to predict future tool work.
- Assist as necessary with investigations and characterizations of
product audit failures, interoperability issues and Certification
testing disputes.
- Manage or assist with test lab inspections and/or training as
needed.
- Provide feedback and supply proposals for increasing automation
and enhancing accuracy of test plans, tools and testing procedures.
- Manage RDQE events and plugfests, including working with
Members to debug tool and interop issues, develop testing
schedules for participants, and manage tool vendors on site.
Candidate must meet the following qualifications:
- Must have a B. S. in Computer Science or equivalent
- Must be a team player with a high level of initiative
- Must be experienced in software development and quality assurance with an
emphasis on networking (8+ years)
- Must be an expert in C, C++, configuration management and builds. (8+ years)
- Must have experience managing a development team and proven record of
successful project management.
- Must have Excellent written and oral communication, planning and estimating
skills
- Must have excellent ability to debug code, analyze failures, and root cause
defects
- Must have experience with UPnP and DLNA implementations is preferred
- Must have experience working in standards organizations is preferred
- Must have experience with digital media encoding is a plus
- Must be able to travel on short notice
