Print/Web/Graphic Designer
Comic book/graphic novel market place is looking to fill the following position with a candidate passionate about design: Print Layout Designer / Web Designer / Marketing Graphics Designer. This position is a work from home position in Austin with occasional in-person status reports.
Ideal candidate is someone who is very good at multitasking. We need a layout designer who can put together comic book layouts, design marketing materials and be able to design, develop and implement websites. The candidate must possess a solid mixture of print design and formatting skills as well as web/email design and development skills. You must be a good graphic designer as we will want to have this position design layout pages, marketing materials, put together in between pages in comics etc. Web Designer’s role includes designing and implementing web pages and online content, banners, graphics, icons, collateral, direct mail collateral, emails, microsites, PowerPoint, etc.
Candidate’s must meet the following requirements:
- Expert with Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, Flash
- Expert HTML and CSS skills (Hand-coded)
- Solid understanding of design principles (typography, color, layout, proportion, motion, etc.)
- Solid understanding of web technologies/standards/accessibility
- Experience with and ability to maintain a CMS website. Experience with Drupal and Joomla a Plus
- Extreme attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time with concurrent deliverables
- Ability to complete projects with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills
- 2+ years prior experience as a print media designer in corporate marketing or entertainment environment
- 2+ years prior experience as a web designer
- 1+ years of development in HTML, CSS from your own designs
Bonus skills:
- Experience with email development and deployment a plus.
- Experience with Flash CS4 and AS3 a huge plus!
- PHP, JavaScript, XHTML, AJAX skills a plus
- Understanding of WEB 2.0, SEO and other search engine techniques.
- Ability to design, code, load, and manage a website, hand-coded, and using CMS tools is a plus.
Location: Work from home/Austin, TX
Compensation: First 3-6 months $8-$10/hr contract work (possibility for flat monthly pay depending on # of hours)
