Assistant Manager needed in Philadelphia
Wanted: Assistant manager for an anything-but-9-to-5 staff
The Challenge: Keep everyone coordinated and communicating, keep everyone on task, and keep them focused on high priorities and goals while not letting details slip, and while strategically planning ahead.
Your Role: Your job is to plan and remind and encourage other staff to complete their tasks. The staff set up non-hierarchically, and a major part of your mission is to facilitate work getting done within this informal structure.
Duties:
-Consult with director at least weekly to set & review priorities and strategic goals.
-Develop a master calendar and timelines.
-Help staff develop work plans if needed.
-Check in with staff members daily or weekly, as needed by the individual.
-Coordinate weekly staff calls.
Location: Philadelphia area is desirable, but this could conceivably be a remote position if you have prior successful experience managing staff in such a way. If you are not allergic to cats, then you'd have the option of working in the office.
Remuneration: $1,600/month This is a contract position, expected to be 20 hours/week, for 8 months with likelihood of extension if funding continues.
Ideal Candidate:
- High school graduate with at least some college experience.
- Good phone and e-mail communication skills.
- Competent computer user, good with spreadsheet or MS Access
- Can engage with diverse personalities.
- Can ask someone to do something in a way that produces enthusiasm in the other person.
- Well-organized.
- Familiar with the Environmental Justice or Climate Justice movements.
Compensation: contract job- $1,600 per month
Location-remote from home, if you can manage the staff that way or you can work from the office located in Philadelphia, PA (there are cats in the office)
