Medical Billing Specialist

Home medical equipment company is seeking a medical billing specialist. Candidate must have a RELIABLE modern computer/home office set-up and be willing work from home initially for an indefinite period

Ideal candidate possess the following qualifications:
- Medical billing experience DME or Home Medical Supplies & Equipment experience is a big plus and preferred
- Medical Background such as Nurse, RN, LPN, PT, OT, PTA, CNA
- Experienced using ICD9 coding and HCPC codes , Brightree or similar electronic billing platform
- Knowledge of insurance reimbursement policies and able to apply this knowledge to a variety of medical equipment.
- Ability to communicate with Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance companies regarding denials, procedure codes, status of claims, and prior authorizations.
- Excellent Customer Service Skills with the ability to communicate with patients regarding their insurance reimbursement policy and collect patient portion.
- Excellent written and oral skills. Able to communicate in timely manner with customers and staff
- Ability to strategize, prioritize and multi task
- Highly Organized
- Friendly, outgoing with a professional appearance, mature outlook and demeanor.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel.
- Quick learner in a very fast paced enviornment
- Ability to take direction from managerial staff
