Transcriber/QC Specialist
Professional development company is looking for transcribers/QC specialists to transcribe video lectures and to test the online classroom to ensure a quality product. This is a work from home position.
Job Responsibilities:
You will access online video lectures/workshops and write a full transcript in MS Word. You will create a table of contents when topic shifts occur and identify the time, in minutes and seconds. You will QC the video and audio quality using both Real Media and Windows Media. Finally, you will QC the online classroom to ensure that all steps are complete, all activities such as quizzes and interactive study guides are working properly, and all resource files are downloadable.
The video lectures/workshops include vocabulary that is commonly used by professionals in the field of education. All word spellings must be accurate. Appropriate problem-solving strategies should be applied to research and resolve inaudible words or phrases. Video lectures and workshops are approximately 90 minutes in length.
Turnaround Time:
Each video lecture/workshop should be transcribed and quality checked within five working days. The amount of work is variable.
Candidate must possess the following requirements:
- Must have transcription experience.
- Must have high-speed Internet access, MS Word, and ability to learn and use the project management system.
- Must have superior writing, grammar, and punctuation skills
- Must be proficient using MS Word
- Must have the ability to learn new software
- Must have the ability to meet deadlines
- Must have the ability to work independently and to prioritize
- Must have 2 to 3 years of transcription and quality control testing experience
Bonus Skills:
- Knowledge of education pedagogy used in K through 12 grades is a plus.
Location: Work from home
Compensation is $160.00 for the following services: lecture/workshop transcription, table of contents, QC of video and audio quality, and QC of online classroom.
