CakePHP Developer

Online media company is seeking an experienced CakePHP developer on a contract basis for immediate work. The ideal developer will have a deep understanding of CakePHP, MySQL (query writing), XHTML and JavaScript (jQuery). This is a work from home position.

Job Responsibilities Include:
- PHP development using CakePHP's platform
- MySQL query writing, basic understanding of joins, sub selects, indexing, etc.
- Setting expectations on time frames to management
- QA'ing one’s own work and back testing when required
- jQuery JavaScript writing for AJAX calls and basic DOM interactions
- Pushing code live to servers using GitHub
- Working with current UI and adding comfortable with CSS and HTML
- Using custom SQL queries in CakePHP

Qualifications:
- 3+ years of application development experience
- CakePHP expert!
- BS or related experience
- Ability to work well independently and resolve problems through "Searching".
- Ability to meet strict deadlines
- Detail-oriented, double and triple checks all of their work
- Ability to follow strict deadlines and set proper expectations
- Should be able to take an already developed application and jump right in and hit the ground running.
