Java Programmer (Enterprise Applications)
Company is looking for a Java Programmer to develop web-based Java applications. You would be working on a cutting-edge task management and paperless office system in Washington, DC. The position will require you to interact with a supervisor and clients to understand application requirements. You will work with open source software components and develop application software to meet the requirements. Another responsibility would be configure testing and deployment environments for applications as well as test and deploy applications.
Job Skills:- Experience with development and deploying Web services
- Experience using standard event logs (e.g., Log4j)
- Experience with Process Language or Process Modeling (e.g. JPDL, XPDL, YAWL etc.)
- Experience using Java mail API
- Experience using Java security API (message digest, authentication)
Job Requirements:
- Ability to review Java code and quickly grasp application functionality
- Experience writing Java Server Pages (JSP) applications
- Servlets and Java Server Pages
- XML APIs
- Standard Java Persistence using Hibernate 3.0 and POJOs
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and expertise with JavaScript
- Experience working with Database Management Systems (DBMS) such as MySQL, Postgres
- Ability to configure DBMS in a Linux environment
- Familiarity with JDBC API and experience writing SQL queries
- Experience deploying Java Enterprise applications in a Linux/Unix environment
- Installing and configuring Tomcat
- Packaging and deploying web applications
- U.S. citizenship (NOT a Visa)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 1-year of experience with Java enterprise technologies
- will involve writing, testing, and developing both front-end and back-end components for Java enterprise applications
Location: work onsite at the US Naval Research Laboratory in D.C.
