Copyeditor

Growing company is currently seeking an experienced Copyeditor to work on an as needed basis. Candidate will be editing books for publication.  It's ultimately necessary for all manuscripts to receive the utmost attention and care.  They must be returned with zero errors in order to provide professional service to the authors. This is a work from home position.

Job Responsibilities:
- Will support our in house editors by editing a variety of titles in word counts ranging from 10,000 and up, with a focus on serious nonfiction and commercial fiction
- Will correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation without changing the author's voice
- Will pay attention to detail, making sure that the character that has brown curly hair on page 24 still has brown curly hair on page 224 and so on

Candidates must possess the following qualifications:
- Must be creative
- Must be a self-starter
- Must be exceptionally organized and have the ability to multi-task
- Must have strong communication, reading and writing skills
- Must have the ability to prioritize, be pro-active, and work independently
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills
- Must have an interest in literature
- Prior copyediting experience preferred
