Remote Emergency Division Coder

This service specialty coder must have extensive clinical training and experience in the areas of emergency room coding for the professional component. The candidate must possess the ability to assign ICD-9-CM, E/M level and CPT codes for physician procedures performed,. Must be able to append appropriate modifiers to CPT codes. Must have working knowledge of outpatient coding guidelines. Must have strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize heavy workloads in a constantly changing environment. Must have strict attention to detail and be able to meet strict deadlines each day. Must be a positive team player who is an ambitious self starter and motivator.

An in-house coder at our office location in Lewiston, ME is preferred, but we will consider remote coders also.

Additional Knowledge & Skills

Must have 2 years of emergency coding experience.
Must possess one or more of the following certification:
CPC, CCS, CCS-P
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
Must be a life long learner in the coding world. rtifications/Licensure

Must hold CPC or CCS
