Research Assistant

Company is seeking a Research Assistant to assist with data collection activities.  Candidate will document and evaluate on-ongoing participatory research programs to improve the health of Asian Americans in Oakland and Richmond, CA. This is telecommute position.  You should be local to the Oakland, CA and Richmond, CA areas.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assisting with filing and literature searches
- Must meet weekly with community groups and take notes on meeting conduct, decisions and procedures
- Recoding notes into an electonric database
- Must main maintain security and confidentiality of data
- Must follow established data procedures
- Must meet regularly with research staff to ensure compliance with data collection and security protocols

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must possess college-level coursework in a social science field such as Anthropology, Sociology, Public Health or related field.
- Must commit to a full two year of project period
- Must have excellent listening skills
- Must be observant
- Must be able to work independently
- Must have excellent writing skills
- Must be proficient in PC computer platform, internet and basic word processing
- Must possess a car and a valid drier' license.

Bonus skill:
- Must demonstrate prior experience with program evaluation, journalistic or other reporting, and/or ethnographic methods
