Customer Service
We are a small and growing Internet-based home hardware store. We are looking for a customer service representative to assist customers with their orders. Primary responsibilities include resolving problems orders and answering product or policy questions. Most support is provided by email; however telephone-based support may be provided as well.
At this time you will be the only customer-service employee. This opportunity provides you the opportunity to use your initiative and drive to solve varied issues that arise during the day; it's not just sitting on the phones. We are looking for a motivated person who enjoys taking on and solving unique challenges.
This position involves home hardware and is a perfect opportunity for someone with knowledge of home remodeling, hardware, or the construction trade. There is the possibility of performing this job from home if you can provide a suitable home office environment with reliable Internet connectivity.
Typical duties will include:
-- Responding to customer service emails, handling issues ranging from order status inquiries to policy questions to product research questions
-- Dealing with suppliers to resolve order processing exceptions (damaged merchandise, wrong items shipped, etc)
-- Answering customer service calls on the telephone
-- Reviewing daily order processing activity to ensure timely handling of orders for customers
-- Handling special order requests such as large quantities or unusual items
-- Responding to credit card chargeback cases
-- Maintaining a positive relationship with the BBB and other rating organizations
-- Updating product descriptions and other web site features based on data from manufacturers
Requirements for this position include:
-- Demonstrated highly successful experience in customer service or a related field
-- Ability to always maintain a positive attitude when dealing with the public
-- Ability to motivate and drive self to accomplish a variety of tasks - doesn't require a daily supervisor
-- Strong experience with web browsers, email, Word, and Excel
-- Experience with home hardware a plus but not required
-- Ability to work 8am - 4pm, M-F
