Contracts Assistant Position
Studio B Productions, Inc., the leading content marketing and literary agency, is looking for an energetic and detail-oriented individual to fill our part-time position for a contracts assistant. At Studio B, we create award winning and highly visible marketing content such as white papers, articles, manuals, sales tools, books, and training materials. We manage authors’ careers, advocate for authors, and help them make the right project selections. We work with top industry authors, publishers, magazines, and corporations like: Pearson, O’Reilly, Wiley (publisher of the For Dummies series), Microsoft and many more.
We are seeking a self-motivated college student with a strong interest in reviewing and analyzing contracts. The candidate for this position should be self-disciplined, professional, and able to work effectively under minimal supervision.
RESPONSIBILITES:
▪ Reviewing and negotiating publishing contracts and corporate contracts
▪ Responding to contract inquiries from agents, authors, and publishers
▪ Acting as a liaison between authors and publishers.
▪ Drafting letters and contracts
▪ Maintaining and updating our contracts database
▪ Tracking the progress of contracts until they are fully executed
▪ Assisting in the preparation of agency agreements
▪ Contract research
▪ Additional job responsibilities may be assigned
Previous experience with publishing contracts and/or legal terminology is a plus.
Applicants should possess excellent written and oral communication skills and computer skills, be able to multi-task, and must be highly organized. Studio B operates as a virtual company and is seeking someone who is comfortable with a telecommuting position. This position is flexible according to availability and could lead to a full-time position upon graduation from college.
